Ribbon Slippers. This is Erika Knights pattern for Satin Boudoir slippers. Made in 10mm double satin ribbon from eBay on 5.5mm needles (I think). Knitted ribbon is really strange. It goes from a really floppy piece of ribbon to a really stiff piece of fabric. (floppy-stiff *insert Beavis and Butthead snigger here*). The slippers are meant to be tied around the ankle a la ballet shoes but I left that bit off as they stay on really well. And no, my socks do not have dandruff, they are sparkly!

Yes, I also found my experience of knitting with ribbon yarn quite a weird one, I have a lot of it stashed away waiting for the right project to appear....

Talking of which. Did you have a good pattern for making felted slippers for kids? I tried the Beverly Galaskas one recently with disasterous results and wondered if there was an alternative. See my blog for the worst slippers in history.

Just realised I don't have an email add for you!

Excellent, thanks for the pattern info, I think Pebbles has that book so maybe she'll lend it me for some slipper making, I was so disappointed with the results of my last attempt!

You know what, the cold frosty weather is much less bad for me than the warmer but wet weather that we had until recently so I much prefer this, it is easier to wrap up warm than to try and keep dry when it is drizzling! I am back on the amitryptiline to help me sleep, it is working but makes me very sleepy during the daytime and I'm finding it very hard to concentrate on work.....although, nothing new there!

See you soon

snigger - I used to enjoy Beavis and Butthead - oh dear, what does that say about me.......

I've looked at that pattern and wondered about wearing tied on slippers - but if they stay on I might have a bash.

I like the bag made from cut up net in that book and have thought about maybe using net to accent in other projects - just have to finish something without loosing interest and frogging it to make something else......
